Axiata Chief spends busy day in Dhaka

Managing Director/President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Axiata Group Berhad, Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim hasheld a meeting with the Hon’ble State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Division, Tarana Halim, MP at her office.

Axiata’s Regional CEO, South Asia, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya; Robi’s Managing Director and CEO, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed; Axiata Group’s Chief Corporate Officer, Mohamad IdhamNawawi and Robi’s Chief Corporate and People Officer, Matiul Islam Nowshad were present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Tan Sri Jamal appraised the Hon’ble State Minister about Robi’s progress in the market following the merger with Airtel. Hon’ble State Minister had expressed her satisfaction about the way in which the merger process was concluded and thanked Axiata for its continued support towards Government’s drive to implement the Digital Bangladesh vision.

During his busy day in Dhaka, Tan Sri Jamal also reviewed Robi’s business operation at length with the company’s management committee and other senior leadership members. Axiata’s Regional CEO, South Asia, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya; Axiata Group Chief Financial Officer, VivekSood; Group Chief Corporate Officer, Mohamad IdhamNawawi; Group Chief Business Operations Officer, Mohammad Asri Hassan Sabri; Group Chief HR Officer, Darke M Sani; Group Chief Talent Officer, DatinBadrunnisaMohdYasin Khan; Group Chief Technology Officer, Amandeep Singh and Group Chief Strategy Officer, Dominic Paul Arena were also present during this management review meeting.

Besides, members of Robi Accelerated Development Programme (RADP)- an internal pool of talents, presented their plan to digitalize the company to Tan Sri Jamal as part of Axiata Group’s vision of transforming the company into the Next Generation Digital Company. He praised their unique ideas and expressed his confidence in Robi to lead the digitalization drive within the Axiata Group.
