DataSoft introduces IoT based Toll Management Solution in Democratic Republic of Congo

DataSoft Bangladesh has signed a historic agreement with the Ministry of Transport & Communication Channels of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the 18th of October 2017 in DRC. DataSoft is the first ever Bangladeshi company to officially sign such a contract with one of the largest countries in Africa. This milestone contract allowsDataSoftto advise and install IoT based Toll Management Solution for DRC’s iconic Matadi Bridge.

Under the leadership of Democratic Republic of Congo’s proposed Honorary Consuls in Dhaka and Chittagong, Bangladesh Mr. NazirAlam and Mr. ZiauddinAdil respectively, a high level delegation team from the Ministry of Transport & Communication Channels of DRC visited Bangladesh from 14-21 July 2017. The team was headed by Mr. Francis W Lengenase, Director General, along with Mr. Frederick K Vetukala, Operating Director and Mr. Today, Technical Officer.

During this visit DataSoft team demonstrated the prototype of the IoT based toll management solution to the DRC team, who were very impressed and shown keen interest to implement the same in DRC. On the 18th of July 2017, the delegation team has met the Honorable Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP. The State Minister said “We are looking forward to build a knowledge-sharing partnership between Government of Bangladesh andGovernment of Democratic Republic of Congo for future growth of ICT industries and mutual collaboration by transfer of technology and sharing of expertise”.

DataSoft’sDirector and COO Mr. M Manjur Mahmud and his team visitedDRC and thehistoriccontract has been signed between Ministry of Transport & Communication Channels and DataSoft on the 18th of October 2017. During their visit DataSoft team met with Mr. JoseMakilaSumanda, Vice Premier Minister of Transport and Communication Channels, DRC and His Excellency Mr. TendayLuaba, Honorary Consul of DRC in the UK. Both have appraised the capabilities ofDataSoft and wished the best for the successful implementation of theseIoT based solutions for their Country.

On behalf of DataSoft, Mr. Manjur Mahmud expressed his heartfelt thanks to all relevant officials at the Ministry of Transport and Communication Channels in DRC and within DataSoft; special appreciation to Mr. NazirAlam, proposed Honourary Consul of DRC in Dhaka, Bangladesh and HE Mr. TendayLuaba, Honorary Consul of DRC in the UK. The Project work has already been started and should be finished in 18 months’ time.
