Friendship is pleased to announce it has received donations from Groupe Carrefour to support the flood victims of the recent floods.

(From Left to Right) Mr. Shafy SAFEYEE,  Country Manager Bangladesh Pakistan, Groupe Carrefour handing over the Donation to Mr. Kazi Amdadul Hoque, Director for Strategic Planning and Head of Disaster Management, Friendship.

This donation will support safe drinking water and emergency hygiene sanitation for 17 communities in the flood affected northern Bangladesh.

As the onrush of water from upstream continues in the northern region of the country, the worsening flood situation in Bangladesh has affected a staggering 7.1 million so far. The fourth flood of 2017 has resulted in destroyed homes displacing many across the region. Hundreds of thousands of people has lost their homes and livelihood. Many medical facilities, schools, markets and other essential services are submerged. Many have lost all that they had to survive life.

Friendship primarily works with the poor in the most remote and inaccessible char, riverbank and coastal areas of Bangladesh for the provision of healthcare, education, disaster management, governance, income generation and cultural preservation.
