IT Associations Organizes Reception for ICT State Minister Palak

Country’s IT associations have organized a reception to felicitate ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak on being selected as “Young Global Leader 2016”.  The grand event was held in BASIS Auditorium in Karwan Bazar on Friday.

BASIS, BCS, ISPAB, BACCO, e-CAB, AMTOB, CTO Forum and BWIT jointly organized the reception ceremony.  BASIS President Shameem Ahsan, BCS General Secretary Nazrul Islam Milon, ISPAB General Secretary Imdadul Haq, BACCO President Ahmedul Haq Bobi, e-CAB President Rajib Ahmed, BWIT Vice President Sonia Bashir Kabir and members from the said associations were present during the event.

ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, I am very much honored for being selected for such a prestigious award given by World Economic Forum. New horizons have opened up for working with the diverse IT platforms with this nomination. The Young Global Leadership platform will help implementing the Vision 2021 declared by our Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and specialist IT-personality Sajeeb Wazed Joy. I want to devote myself in creating a developed and habitable earth with the help of information technology and contribute in realizing our Digital Bangladesh vision. I want to dedicate this achievement to all the people of Bangladesh who the Father of Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibor Rahman loved so much.

BASIS President Shameem Ahsan said, After Honorable Prime Minister and ICT Advisor to Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed Joy; it was the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak who has taken the country’s IT industry to a whole new level. This achievement from World Economic Forum is an honor for the country and nation. We hope this achievement will boost his dedication towards making Digital Bangladesh and it will accelerate the development of our industry.

BCS General Secretary Nazrul Islam Milon said, through this achievement ICT State Minister will continue his unstoppable journey with his talent and dedication.

ISPAB General Secretary Imdadul Haq said, world is now giving Bangladesh its due importance. This prestigious award will encourage our kids to be like him in future.

BACCO President Ahmedul Haq Bobi added that this achievement will accelerate the growth of our industry.

e-CAB President Rajib Ahmed stated that ICT State Minister has got his due by crediting with the award for showing his tremendous leadership power. We hope the industry developing journey will speed up after this selection.

BWIT Vice President Sonia Bashir Kabir said Microsoft is considering Bangladesh among the top 10 potential countries in IT after this recognition.

young-palak-2Among others, Abdullah H Kafi, former President of ASSOCIO, Mahboob Zaman, former BASIS Presindent, and IT Specialist Mostafa Jabbar also spoke on the occasion.

Recently, Switzerland based organization World Economic Forum has published the name of the selected young leaders of the world along with the ICT State Minister of Bangladesh who are under the age of forty (40) in their website. They have awarded him due to his contribution to the society, his leadership, his professional approach and his contribution towards making a better future for all. Due to this award, he is going to participate in all the conferences and workshops arranged by the Forum for next five (5) years and try to help the initiatives of the other selected personnel.

It is to be stated here that the ICT Adviser of Prime Minister Mr. Sajeeb A Wazed was awarded this prestigious award in 2007. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Google co-founder Larry Page, E-Commerce site Alibaba’s founder Jack Ma, Indian politician Rahul Gandhi, Chelsea Clinton; daughter of Hillary Clinton  and renowned actor Leonardo DiCaprio were awarded as “Young Global Leader” during the last few of years.
