Unilever Bangladesh Limited has organized Digital Week 2017

In this era of globalization, the use of digital media is absolutely necessary to survive against competition. With this thought, Unilever Bangladesh Limited has organized Digital Week 2017 for all its employees for the first time.

The main objective behind this five – day activity program was to build knowledge about digital for all employees of Unilever Bangladesh, as well as building up technological capability to use it in different areas.

Mr. Farhan Qureshi (Managing South Asian Frontier Markets at Google), Mr. Yasir Azman (Deputy CEO & CMO – Grameen Phone), Mr. Jakaria Swapan (Founder & CEO – Priyog), Mr. Wasim Alim (Founder & CEO – Chaldal.com) were few among the many domestic and Foreign speakers who have highlighted the importance of modern technology and its proper use in this five-day workshop. Technological companies like Google, Daraz, Chaldal.com, Eskimi, ROBI, SSD tech, e-courier, Priyo.com and others displayed their various services and capabilities throughout the week.

In the closing ceremony program, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Bangladesh, was invited as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he said that new innovation & ideas in digital technology initiated by companies like Unilever Bangladesh limited will help us transform Bangladesh digitally as a nation. Bangladesh government is willing to curate and patronize startups and innovators to lead ourselves towards the era of digital.

Mr. Kedar Lele, Chief Operating Officer of Unilever Bangladesh Limited said in his speech “Unilever Digital Week 2017 was organized to enable and empower the employees with the digital arsenal of today’s world. We have connected with leading technology start-ups of the country to showcase their products and innovations, as well as invited renowned speakers from leading tech organizations in Bangladesh and abroad. This will certainly help Unilever Bangladesh playing a vital role with the digital transformation of Bangladesh.”

At the end of the closing ceremony, three winners were chosen for the best ideas in the Digital Media pitch session. Prenuer Lab won the 2nd runner-up, Magnito Digital won the 1st runner-up & Content Matters won the Champion prize. Also Cramstack limited, Socian limited & Adplay Technologies won prizes for best stall of the digital exhibition.
